You were told it was a drinking problem. Your body was telling the truth.
The first thing I do is take the label off. This was never a drinking problem, and it was never a character flaw. By 7pm your body has been running on stress since morning, and the calm you are reaching for is a signal your nervous system has already run out of. I see the same pattern in woman after woman. Wired all day like you drank coffee you never touched.
A chest that will not fully unclench. You snap at the people you love, then hate that you did. And then the 3am wake-up that no amount of magnesium seems to fix. If four of those are you, you are not weak — you are depleted.
That is the only reason the glass works at all. It reaches the one calming switch your body stopped being able to flip on its own. Women describe it to me the same way every time: it kind of works. That phrase is not vague — it is the most precise thing a tired nervous system can say.
The deficit behind it is real. It simply never got a name.
