The pull, not the cigarette
Being in the room was never about white-knuckling past the cigarettes you love. The one you light at the dinner table without enjoying is a tired nervous system asking for its calm brake, and stepping outside was just the fastest way to flip it. The real move is to hand that brake its signal from a source that does not pull you toward the door. That is a different problem than quitting, and a much smaller one.
